Perspectives
Anyoon aims to significantly contribute to eco-friendly, secure, competitive and sustainable transport principles.
The expected outcome of the present efforts is to complete and validate a commercial design of the compact, high efficiency and low emission engine. The Anyoon engine in its final embodiment will be able to provide 51% thermal efficiency, without creating additional emission and noise.
This will enable SUM to obtain the certification and to commercialize the engine in Europe. But, before the in-vehicle test, SUM must fine-tune the Anyoon design, test and validate this design through several rounds of tests, to be able to launch the product on the automotive market. This is a long and complex activity which requires a high investment and qualification.
SUM is currently designing the Anyoon proprietary sealing system that is based on a simple rolling, thanks to an inserted roller between the rotor and the casing. When inserted in a groove the roller will be rolling thanks to oil supply, thus sealing the gap and minimising the friction. No leakage between side of the groove and side of the seal occurs. This produces a more uniform pressure along the surface of the seal to the wall. This results to uniform sealing and less wearing of the seal.
