Overview
Anyoon is a new type of internal combustion engine for liquid hydrocarbon fuels. The Anyoon Rotary Engine is a concept engine that incorporates a unidirectional rotary design and obeys the Atkinson cycle to perfection. The engine allows for all four phases of the Atkinson cycle to be optimised for better efficiency without losing power.
The test in powertrain proved that Anyoon can boast an exceptional thermal efficiency of 51%, achieved by: a higher expansion ratio, constant volume heat addition (CVHA) and internal cooling by water injection.
- By implementing a higher expansion ratio, through the Atkinson Cycle, a 10% improvement in efficiency is achieved.
- CVHA can provide 20-30% more power while using the same amount of fuel and thereby more efficiency and sustainability to the environment.
- The internal cooling by water injection improves efficiency by reducing cooling loss and exhaust loss.
Therefore, the Anyoon engine can deliver a total efficiency of 51%. In comparison with current diesel engines Anyoon delivers 13% higher efficiency and 46% higher efficiency than gasoline engines. Anyoon is downsized comparing with a reciprocating engine and with a Wankel engine and has a completely new engine mechanism and thermodynamic cycle. Anyoon is a compact design, high efficient, low noise, low vibration and easy to “plug & play” engine, that can be reliable in gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles.
